People are always asking me where I gather the eclectic sounds I use in classroom projects with students and teachers. Most of my friends know that I'm forever hawking the resources available through the sound resources in the American Memory collection at the Library of Congress. Since I don't care all that much for popular music, I make a point to drop by Oddio Overplay on a regular basis. It's a great source of free and legal music and you never what you'll find the corner. For example, nosing around Oddio's site lead me to The Coconut Monkeyrocket where I found a groovy recording of Accidental Beatnik. I also crawl through the Internet Archive's collection of audio resources from time to time. Like other audiophiles around the globe, I joined the Freesound Project about a year ago so I could keep up with all of the free, aural goodness that's available. Rock on!
